As in 6 , we are here interested in a considerably simplified version as compared to the situation from climate modeling; for example, a onedimensional regular Sturm-Liouville differential operator substitutes for a two-dimensional Laplace-Beltrami operator or a singular Legendre-type operator, and the jump discontinuity is transformed to u 0 in a way, which resembles only locally the climatological problem.
